About Rajat Kapoor

Rajat Kapoor was born on February 11, 1961, in New Delhi, India. He is an actor and director, known for Dil Chahta Hai (2001), Ankhon Dekhi (2013), and Drishyam (2015). As a teenager, he would watch films with his family and decided to become a filmmaker at the age of 14. He mainly focused on acting at first. In 1983 he joined the theatre group Chingari in Delhi, later moving to Pune to attend the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII).
